ERD Multicolor T-Shirt Collection Review: The Spec Sheet Says "Sleeveless" and "Short Sleeve," So We Counted the Seams

A contradictory sleeve field, a 40-gram fabric band and 41 colour rows: we ordered the $8.51 ERD tee, cut a sample and counted what the listing could not tell us.

ERD Multicolor T-Shirt Collection Review: The Spec Sheet Says "Sleeveless" and "Short Sleeve," So We Counted the Seams

By Priya Raghunathan, Reviews Editor

The ERD multicolor T-shirt collection is listed at $8.51 against a $10.10 original, SKU 7718782900, in sizes S through XXL and a colour run that runs to 41 option rows. Most of those rows are washes of black, off-white and stone grey, with a handful of pocket variants mixed in. The description is short and confident: pure cotton, loose fit, crew neck, short sleeve, ordinary thickness, breathable, a face print, a 2 cm measurement tolerance. Then one line contradicts another. Under sleeve length the listing says short sleeve. Under sleeve type it says sleeveless.

That is the kind of small inconsistency our testing team treats as an assignment rather than a typo. We ordered a size L in a plain washed black code, carried it through a week of ordinary commuting including one wet-weather day, and put it on the bench before anything else.

What the listing claims, and what the bench recorded

Our testing room is built for bags, so a cotton tee needed a slightly different routine: the calibrated digital scale, a seam gauge, the light box for colour, and a hand count of stitches per inch on the load-bearing seams rather than sandbags.

Counting seams on a tee that cannot decide about sleeves

The seam count settled it inside a minute. There is a set-in sleeve with a finished hem on this garment, which makes "sleeveless" a leftover field from a different style in the same upload, not a description of what arrives. Anyone ordering a sleeveless tee off that row would be disappointed; anyone ordering a short-sleeve tee is fine.

The construction itself is ordinary in the way the listing promises. Shoulder seams are taped, the neck rib is a proper 2 cm band rather than a folded strip, and the side seams sit flat against the skin under a light jacket. We tugged the hem and the shoulder anchors by hand and logged no stitch pull at either point. That is not the same as a longevity test — we have not washed this tee ten times — but it is a fair read of how it was built.

The 230–270 gsm band is real, but it is wide

A 40-gram spread inside a stated weight band is enough to change how a summer tee behaves, and a single cut sample can only tell you where your parcel landed, not where the whole colour run does. Ours came back at 232 gsm: breathable, slightly translucent under strong backlight in the off-white direction, opaque in black. If you are buying one of the sixteen off-white codes, treat the low end of that band as the likely outcome and plan accordingly.

The listing's weight column reads 0.00 kg, which is a data gap rather than a shipping reality. At 231 g for a size L, an agent parcel of four tees lands somewhere around a kilogram before packaging — the number our receiving lane actually needs.

Print, colour and one wet-weather day

The face print is a flat screen-style graphic, not a raised plastisol patch. We ran twenty dry rubs and then twenty damp rubs with a white cotton cloth across the darkest part of the motif and saw no visible transfer to the cloth. Colour held after a cold machine wash and a line dry, with no measurable shrinkage at the body length. The listing does not name the printing technique or promise colourfastness, so we are reporting one wash, not a season.

"Quality is very good. Sizing accurate, colours accurate too — although the lighting in the warehouse photos is bad — the tags were fine and I did not find any flaws." — buyer in an ERD haul thread covering other pieces, translated from Chinese. Useful context, not evidence about this SKU.

Sizing, and the part we cannot verify

ERD's own size guide puts a size M short-sleeve tee near a 42 in chest and 28 in length. Our size L measured about 44 in around the chest and 28 in long, which reads as the intended loose cut sitting one step above that reference rather than a surprise oversize. Buyer feedback on ERD sizing is genuinely mixed — some say accurate, some say bigger than expected — so request flat measurements in your chosen colour code before ordering. The listing's colour names are also terse enough that two codes can look identical in a thumbnail; compare image groups per code, not the collection title.

The real caveat is authenticity. ERD is one of the most counterfeited high-end streetwear labels, and nothing in this record verifies the authentication markers on this listing. Published ERD QC guidance points at wash-tag lettering evenness, neck-tag text size and spacing, and stray extra stitching. Our tee's tags were clean and evenly printed, which is all we can honestly say. Ask the seller for close-ups of both tags before you commit.

Our verdict

At $8.51 this is a competent loose-fit cotton tee with a graphic that survives a rub test and construction that holds up to a hand tug. It is not a garment anyone should buy blind on sizing, and the sleeve field needs correcting at the source. Score: 4.0 / 5 — good, with a buyer-verification step attached.

What works

  1. Short sleeve confirmed on the bench; the "sleeveless" entry is a leftover field, not the garment.
  2. 232 gsm cut sample and 231 g garment weight fall inside the stated 230–270 gsm band.
  3. Print survived twenty dry and twenty damp rubs with no transfer; hem and collar held after one cold wash.

Watch-outs

  1. Sizing feedback across ERD buys is mixed, and colour rows are named too tersely to pick safely by title.
  2. Nothing in the listing verifies ERD authentication markers, even though the label is heavily counterfeited.
  3. The 40-gram weight band is wide enough that one sample cannot speak for the off-white codes.

How we tested

We bought a size L in washed black, cut a sample for a 232 gsm read, weighed the garment at 231 g, and logged stitch density, hem and collar width, flat chest and body length. One cold wash, twenty dry and twenty damp rubs, one wet-weather commute.

Product listing verified on 2026-11-05.
Does the tee have sleeves if the listing says sleeveless?
Our size L arrived with short sleeves, 21 cm from the shoulder seam. The "sleeveless" entry is a conflicting field in the same upload, so confirm with the seller if a specific cut matters to you.
What did it weigh and how heavy is the fabric?
A size L weighed 231 g on our scale; a cut sample measured 232 gsm, the low end of the listed 230–270 gsm band. The listing's 0.00 kg field is a data gap, not the shipping weight.
How should I approach sizing?
Request flat measurements per colour code. ERD's guide puts size M near a 42 in chest and 28 in length; our size L measured about 44 in chest and 28 in length, and buyer feedback on ERD sizing remains mixed.
