Superbuy Review: China Buying Agent for Gear, Materials and Consolidation
Short answer
Superbuy is a long-running China purchasing and forwarding agent with no basic buying fee, three free warehouse QC photos per item, 90 days of free storage and parcel consolidation across 200+ destination countries. We ordered gear through it and used the photo checks to confirm materials and stitching before shipping.
Superbuy is a China-based buying and parcel-forwarding service that has operated since 2012. It buys from Taobao, Tmall and other Chinese storefronts for overseas shoppers, charges no basic purchasing fee, photographs incoming items in its warehouse, stores them free for 90 days and consolidates them into one international parcel. For gear buyers, that combination makes it a practical way to test fabric, stitching and hardware quality before committing to expensive shipping.
Superbuy was founded in 2012 and was one of the first platforms to build a reverse cross-border shopping model: overseas customers order from Chinese marketplaces, the agent buys on their behalf, inspects and stores the goods, then forwards them internationally. It runs on Taobao, Tmall and other domestic platforms, with a spreadsheet-style product search tool that lets buyers filter large batches of listings by category and price and then import links straight into an order.
The service model has three parts. Purchasing is free of basic agent commission. Warehousing includes three free inspection photos per item, a 90-day free storage window and a long menu of paid extras such as detailed photography, moisture-proof packing and reinforced cartons. Forwarding covers more than 100 routes to over 200 countries, with pricing quoted per route rather than a single flat rate.
For gear-minded buyers the useful part is the middle stage. Because the item stops in a Chinese warehouse before international shipping, material checks — weave, seams, zip pulls, buckle hardware, sole bonding — can be done while returns are still cheap. Superbuy supports bilingual customer support, multi-currency payment and a points scheme that can be redeemed against shipping, and its published fee schedule means the cost of each extra check is known in advance. All fee figures on this page reflect Superbuy's published schedule as checked in September 2026 and can change.
What works well
No basic purchasing fee for the life of the account, so small gear orders are not penalised by a per-order commission
Three free warehouse photos per item, plus three more for Weidian listings, which is enough to check fabric weave, stitching and hardware before shipping
90 days of free storage lets you spread purchases across several sellers and consolidate one parcel instead of paying multiple international shipments
Reasonable exchange rate and an unusually wide payment list, including Wise and Bitcoin alongside cards and Alipay
14 years of continuous operation, 100+ shipping routes and bilingual support make disputes and lost-parcel claims easier to escalate
What to check
Free photos are appearance checks only: they show style, colour, size and model, not abrasion resistance, water repellency or fabric composition, so request a paid detailed inspection for anything performance-critical
Value-added services such as box removal, tag removal and power-on testing make an item non-returnable, so decide before you order them
International shipping is charged first as a deposit against estimated weight; the final bill is settled after packing and can move either way
Extended storage beyond the free window is charged per item per month, and items left past roughly 180 days are treated as abandoned
Top-up fees differ sharply by method — Wise bank transfer can credit more than you send, while card and Apple Pay add just under 4%
Combining parcels does not guarantee the cheapest route; line restrictions and volumetric weight can outweigh the savings
Is Superbuy legitimate?
Superbuy has operated continuously since 2012 and is one of the earliest reverse cross-border shopping platforms in China, run by DOT Technology Hong Kong Limited. Public traffic data puts it in the millions of monthly visits and among the leaders in its category, and it publishes a full fee schedule, a registered support email and a phone number. In our ordering test the purchase, photo check and consolidation stages all behaved as documented. That said, legitimacy is not the same as immunity to problems: route delays, seller substitutions and weight disputes still happen, and they are resolved through support tickets rather than automatically.
Where Superbuy is used most
Traffic data shows the heaviest user bases in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and France, which lines up with the English-language interface, the bilingual support desk and the spread of local top-up options such as PayID in Australia, iDEAL in the Netherlands and PIX in Brazil. Buyers in countries with fewer direct Chinese shipping options tend to lean on consolidation most heavily.
Using warehouse QC as a material check
The free photo service is an appearance check: style, colour, size and model. For practical gear that is a starting point, not a verdict. We ask for close-ups of the weave, the stitch density at stress points, the zip slider and the hardware finish, because those four details are where cheap equivalents of technical fabrics and bags usually fail first. Where a listing makes a specific claim — a denier, a fill power, a leather type — order the paid detailed inspection (roughly $0.88 per piece in the September 2026 schedule) or a short video ($3.23). Neither replaces a lab test, so treat the result as evidence that the item is made as described rather than proof of performance.
Payment methods and top-up fees
Superbuy accepts a wider spread of payment routes than most agents: cards and Apple Pay, Wise, Bitcoin, Alipay and WeChat Pay, plus regional wallets and bank-transfer schemes including iDEAL, Bancontact, BLIK, Trustly, EPS, MB WAY, PayID, PIX, PromptPay, GCash, Kakao Pay, DANA, PayNow, Touch 'n Go, GrabPay and Mercado Pago. Fees are not uniform. Wise bank transfers are listed at -3.13%, meaning the credit can exceed the amount sent, while credit card and Apple Pay top-ups carry about +3.94%. Alipay and WeChat top-ups are free but can take 1–60 minutes to credit. Wallet fees typically sit between 0.5% and 3.8% plus a small fixed amount depending on the country. Fees are current as of September 2026 and should be re-checked at checkout.
Paid extras: what they cost and what they cancel
The add-on schedule is broad and mostly inexpensive: trimming loose threads ($0.80 per piece), removing tags ($0.48), a second inspection ($1.00), detailed photography ($0.48), ironing ($3.23), moisture-proof bags ($0.96), stretch film ($0.64/kg up to $3.23), corner protectors ($0.80/kg up to $4.03), foldable shoe boxes ($0.80), vacuum compression bags ($2.74) and wooden crate reinforcement ($40.38). Extended storage runs about $1.61 per item per month. Returns and exchanges are free for the first one or two requests per month and then scale up to about $3.23 and $6.46 per request. The trap is irreversibility: box removal, tag cutting and power-on testing void the return option, so choose them only after the free photos have convinced you.
Shipping cost, deposits and route limits
International shipping is quoted against estimated weight, destination and route, then charged as a deposit. After packing, the parcel is weighed and the difference is reconciled under Superbuy's rules, so the deposit is not a final price. Adding an item to a parcel is not a guarantee the shipping cost stays the same. With 100+ routes to 200+ countries, the practical move is to compare two or three lines at the consolidation step rather than defaulting to the cheapest headline rate, and to apply reinforcement only where it pays — crates and film add weight that you also pay to fly.
How to use Superbuy
Step 1 — Find the gear through the spreadsheet
Open the Superbuy Spreadsheet, search by product and material keyword, and filter by category and price to build a shortlist. Compare links, images, prices and stores in the table, then copy the links of the items you want.
Step 2 — Order and pay, watching the top-up method
Paste the links into Superbuy and submit the purchase order. Basic purchasing is free; the cost you control is the payment route, since Wise bank transfers credit more than you send while card and Apple Pay top-ups add just under 4%. Points earned on the account can be redeemed against shipping.
Step 3 — Inspect in the warehouse before it ships
Superbuy buys from the seller and receives the goods, then supplies three free photos per item (three extra for Weidian). Ask for the specific details you care about — seams, zip hardware, labels, sole bonding — or pay for a detailed inspection or video if the material claim is central to the purchase.
Step 4 — Consolidate carefully and settle the final weight
Combine items within the 90-day free storage window, choose a route, and pay the shipping deposit based on estimated weight. The parcel is reweighed after packing and the difference is settled under Superbuy's rules, so leave headroom in the budget and avoid irreversible extras unless you are sure of the item.
Shopping-agent guide
Superbuy works best when you treat it as three separate stages — discovery, warehouse check, then shipping — and make decisions at each one instead of letting the parcel run on autopilot.
Discovery. Start with the Superbuy Spreadsheet, the platform's product search tool. Enter a keyword and it returns bulk listing data from Chinese marketplaces in table form: product links, images, prices and store information. Filter by category and price band to narrow hundreds of rows down to a handful, compare them side by side, then copy the links you want and paste them into Superbuy to place a purchase order. For gear, search by material term as well as product name — ripstop, Cordura, 210D, merino, YKK — because sellers often keyword-stuff titles and the material line is the honest part of the listing.
Warehouse check. Once items arrive, Superbuy photographs them free: three shots per item, three extra for Weidian listings. Use those photos deliberately. Ask for the seam, the zip slider, the label and the inside of the bag rather than a straight-on product shot, and compare what you see against the listing. If a garment's claimed fabric weight or a bag's claimed denier matters to you, order the paid detailed inspection (about $0.88 per piece in the September 2026 schedule) or a product video ($3.23). These are still visual checks, so expect confirmation of construction and finish, not laboratory fabric testing.
Storage and extras. Items sit free for 90 days, so buy from several sellers in one window and consolidate. Paid add-ons range from trimming loose threads and removing tags to moisture-proof bags, stretch film, corner protectors and wooden crates. Treat the irreversible ones carefully: removing shoe boxes, cutting tags or powering on electronics ends the return option.
Shipping. Submit the parcel with your chosen route; the international fee is charged as a deposit against estimated weight and destination, then reconciled after packing and weighing. Adding items mid-parcel does not lock the price. Ask for reinforcement only where it earns its cost — a crate for fragile gear, film and a moisture bag for textiles — and check route restrictions before assuming consolidation is cheaper than two small parcels.
Frequently asked
Does Superbuy charge a purchasing service fee?
No. Basic purchasing commission is waived for the lifetime of the account. You still pay item cost, domestic freight, any paid warehouse extras, international shipping and the top-up fee charged by your payment method.
How good are Superbuy's free QC photos for checking materials?
Three free photos per item (three extra for Weidian) confirm style, colour, size and construction details such as seams and hardware. They are visual checks only, so pay for a detailed inspection or video when a specific fabric claim matters.
How long can I store items and how should I consolidate?
Free storage is 90 days per item, extendable toward 180 days for about $1.61 per item per month before items are treated as abandoned. Use the window to gather orders from several sellers, then compare two or three shipping routes before consolidating.
